Is Jesus a false god or the real God?
Is Jesus, The True Light, The Word of God and God made man or a false god?

Using the NWT JW bible and KJV for context comparisons
Jesus is The Word
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god. This one was in the beginning with God. All things came into existence through him, and apart from him not even one thing came into existence." (John 1:1-3 NWT)\
The verse states that this "god" aka God's Word which was in the beginning with God is how "all things came into existence" "and apart from him not even one thing came into existence." So God's Word is a him and a separate person from himself, yet also fully the creator God in which all things came into existence.
Let us compare with the KJV bible text...
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made." (John 1:1-3 KJV)
And who is this that is the Word of God?
"and he is clothed with an outer garment stained with blood, and he is called by the name The Word of God." (Revelation 19:13)
- We know Revelation is referring to Jesus because he is the one stained with blood, yet his name is "The Word of God."
- When we compare that verse to the one we see in John 1:1 and others, we see that Jesus is not simply "a god" among many and completely separate from Jehovah God.
- The person of Jesus is God in human form!
- Jesus is the word made flesh; "So the Word became flesh and resided among us, and we had a view of his glory, a glory such as belongs to an only-begotten son from a father; and he was full of divine favor and truth." (John 1:14)
There is only One God
“You are my witnesses,” declares Jehovah, “Yes, my servant whom I have chosen, So that you may know and have faith in me And understand that I am the same One. Before me no God was formed, And after me there has been none. I—I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior.” “I am the One who declared and saved and made known When there was no foreign god among you. So you are my witnesses,” declares Jehovah, “and I am God." Isaiah 43:10-12 NWT
This passage is simply telling us that there are no other gods, no exceptions! Therefore Jesus can only be God made flesh or a false god.
Let us continue...
"For even though there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many “gods” and many “lords,” there is actually to us one God, the Father, from whom all things are and we for him; and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things are and we through him." 1 Corinthians 8:5-6 NWT
- If Jesus' name is "The Word of God" as we see in Revelation 19, and the word made flesh like we see in John 1, and there has been no gods formed, then Jesus is God, not a god or one of many gods.
- Can God's Word be a false god?
Jesus is the True Light
"The true light that gives light to every sort of man was about to come into the world." John 1:9 NWT
"This is the message that we heard from him and are announcing to you: God is light, and there is no darkness at all in him." 1 John 1:5 NWT
- If "God is light" and Jesus is "The true light", then Jesus can only be God, and certainly not a false god or a mere man.
- Can a false god be The True Light?
His name (singular)
"For a child has been born to us, A son has been given to us; And the rulership will rest on his shoulder. His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6 NWT
compare this to...
"Go, therefore, and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit," Matthew 28:19 NWT
- We know Jesus is the "child" "born to us" yet this child will rule as Prince, Father and Mighty God. You may want to read that verse again! And prayerfully consider what it is telling us about Jesus.
- How can the child Jesus be "Mighty God" and not also God who has come in the flesh? The Word became flesh! John 1: 14 as quoted in the notes in the section above.
- In both verses I feel God is revealing to us His Holy Trinity, of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit, which are mentioned in both verses I am prayerfully asking you to consider.
This is by no means an exhaustive study of The Divinity of Jesus using the New World Translation but it is a good start.
Thank you Jesus :)
